Who can participate in Little Athletics?

Children between the ages of 3 and 20 years may register as athletes. 


Tiny Tots -  20's may compete in inter club Carnivals and Gala Days.


Athletes 7-15's may compete in the NSW Athletics Pathway Competitions, progressing from Zone Championships to Regional Championships and on to State Championships.


Athletes 16's-20's may nominate directly for  the NSW State Championships. 

Progression through Zone and Region is not compulsory, however is offered as a participation pathway. 



Parents, grandparents and friends (20+) are encouraged to get involved at Albion Park Little Athletics Centre by taking up our Community Membership offer. 


Community Members may participate in our Club Night Competition on Friday nights at John O'Dwyer Oval. 

What level of ability does my child need to be to join?

We encourage athletes of all abilities to participate. 


With an emphasis on development and personal growth we endeavour to provide athletes of all abilities opportunities to compete and improve at their own pace. 

At what time of year does Little Athletics take place?
Registration opens August 1st every year. 


Primarily a summer activity, weekly competition at Albion Park Little Athletics Centre runs  from September through to March.

What time does the program start on Friday Nights?


Gather at 5.15pm ready for a 5.30pm start

Can my child try Little Athletics before joining?

Yes, we allow new families 'Come and Try' athletics

Can I use a NSW Active Kids Voucher?
NSW Government Active Kids Vouchers can be used for registration with all Little Athletics NSW Centre’s. 


How to access my child's results from Friday Club Nights?

All results will be uploaded to ResultsHQ. 

1. Your email is your username - The email used when registering for the season is the username for ResultsHQ.


2. Go to the family login area - https://resultshq.com.au/


3. If you can not remember your password reset it here - https://resultshq.com.au/login/forgotpassword

Do we need special shoes?

Shoes must be worn at all times at our track. 


Spikes can be worn by 11’s -20's, in lane events 100m, 200m, 400m and in Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump. 


Spikes must be removed immediately after each event and carried with the athlete. Spike shoes are not a necessity and only some athletes opt to use them.


No football boots are permitted on our track. 

Are starting blocks available?

Starting blocks may be used at the discretion of the competitor and are available for use at the club.

Will weather effect competition?

We follow the LANSW Policies and Guidelines on weather.

Will my child be taught the correct technique or have access to coaching?

Little Athletics NSW conducts coaching clinics and camps at various venues and times throughout the season. Our committee and many parents are accredited / experienced and can provide advice and guidance throughout the season. Our club includes resources aimed at providing parents/volunteers with the essential knowledge for helping at events.

• Ages and correct specifications for the various age groups

• Basic instruction on how to do the event

• Basic Rules

• Basic Officiating Procedures

• Safety Considerations

• Hand Tips for conducting the event at centre level

Limited skill development instruction is given on Friday evenings.
